OVERVIEW


MED SoundStudio is a Windows port of famous Amiga tracker: OctaMED written by Teijo Kinnunen. MED SoundStudio is a professional Editing tool for the creation of music, either with the use of disk based samples, internal synthsounds and now, VST instruments. You can also connect MED to a MIDI Keyboard. 

FEATURES

Capabilities of tracker include, 64 stereo channels at 16 bit playback with real time effects including stereo, panning with filter sweeps with resonance cutoff frequency switches. Plus many other options for making music on the computer which now includes VST instruments by editing via the Highlife Editor.

  3. Actually this hosts VSTs natively and/or you can load them up as an option in the HighLife Engine which has been infused into MED then sample-freeze the VST to make a sample-based instrument then unload that VST entirely...

    This was way before Renoise added such a feature...

    MED has some nice quirks like what I just mentioned and being able to save project as an EXE so any idiot can play it...It also has easiest method of pattern effects commands and command depth in the block can be extended quite a ways...

    The big flaw? STABILITY!! Crashing for no reason just sitting or playing...Pretty much made it un-useable...
