SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

The editor has been developed and tested mostly under Windows XP. It also has been tested under Windows 9x and Windows Vista. Under Windows 9x some minor issues with interface redrawing are possible. You'll need a fast CPU to get small sound delay, because the editor emulates two sound systems of Mega Drive/Genesis at once. CPU load on Celeron 3.07 GHz is about 35-50%.

OVERVIEW

VGM Music Maker is a tracker-type music cross-editor for range of Sega game consoles, such as Genesis/Megadrive, Master System, and Game Gear.

FEATURES

The editor allows to create, edit, and replay music for the consoles using IBM PC-compatible computer with Windows. Music made in the editor can be replayed on the real device. With some limitations, the editor also can be used to make music for any other system with sound chip of the OPN family (YM2203, YM2608, YM2610).

The editor uses software emulation of the YM2612 and SN76489 sound chips, based on source code from multi-system arcade machines emulator MAME. It also uses zlib compression library, and VGM optimization code from VGMTools.
